We have been selling grass fed beef for several years now. We felt with the demands for corn for fuel, and with all the environmental concerns. Our customers began to ask for grass fed beef. We felt we needed to move in a different direction. After much study and many questions, we purchased our first Murray Greys Bulls in 2011. Murray Greys were of sufficient frame size to be commercially acceptable. The Murray Grey have the ability to efficiently use pasture and to consistently finish Choice on grass. Murray Greys offer quality conscious consumers one the best, most consistent products in terms of taste, tenderness and overall eating quality. Murray Grey cattle carry more of the tenderness and marbling genes than cattle of any other beef breed.
Besides being tender and tasty, grass fed beef is naturally much lower in fat, and thereby lower in calories than grain fed beef. While grass fed beef is low in saturated and other ?bad? fat, it actually contains two to six times more Omega-3 essential fatty acids, which play a vital role in overall health and well-being. Grass fed beef is also higher in cancer-fighting Conjugated Linoleic Acid (CLAs), Vitamin E, and Beta Carotene. Look for updates about Grass Fed beef this fall.
